Many of us only learned this trip about "red pandas", which are not bears but are rather a relative to the raccoon. They are just as cuddly, as some of us found out.
A guy, his critters, the people he meets, the people he knows and loves, along with notes on doing a major pre-retirement house renovation and purge, travel, food and cooking, music, games, theater, movies, photography, skiing, tennis, the great outdoors.

If you bring me back a panda, I will give you Nellie back in exchange. We have lots of bamboo in the back to feed the panda. Just kidding. Nellie is doing well - she loves my next-door neighbors who give her treats when she goes there (which has become 25 times a day...). Last night at 2:30 am, she was pacing, pacing, pacing, so I thought she must need to go out. Got dressed, hooked her up to the leash and took her out. She did a little squirt to be polite then hi-tailed it for Ginny's house to claim a treat... Fortunately, there were no treats (since the Wiersmas were all in bed...) - maybe that was enough discouragement so Nellie won't ry it again tonight!
